Joint ventures sound almost foreboding, but they represent a straightforward means to get past some of the roadblocks that you may be experiencing while trying to build your online business. A joint venture between two or more parties need not be an overly complicated endeavor. In fact, a joint venture could be as simple as two vendors agreeing to recommend the newsletter of the other vendor to their own clients. This is known as an adswap. Adswaps are growing more popular as vendors look for ways to swell their prospective customer lists.
A slightly more complex joint venture is the gift giveaway, where a large number of contributors come together and agree to provide a free gift in exchange for the opportunity to have thousands of potential subscribers consider their offer and perhaps decide to join the newsletter in exchange for receiving the gift. This is kind of like a massive adswap, but in this case the contributors do not need to know each other – they are operating under the umbrella of the person who put the gift giveaway event together.
Now, running a gift giveaway is not necessarily straightforward. So the person hoping to run the event might find they have to partner with someone who has experience running giveaways. So this becomes a form of joint venture, and is exactly what I found myself doing to help grow my own list of prospective clients.
The one obstacle to doing joint ventures is finding people with similar interests as your own. As with most other business ventures in life, the more connected you are the easier this becomes. So how do you get connected? This was a big problem, I discovered. When I began looking around for communities of like minded health and fitness professionals I came up short. So I found myself scanning the web sites of prospective vendors who I thought I might approach for a joint venture. Finding email addresses and contact names this way is not easy!
So instead of having to do this repeatedly I decided that it would be worth my effort to build my own database of health and fitness contacts. Better yet, we can all benefit from the initial work required to build the database. In fact, the reason I am writing this very article is because I am hoping you are one of the people who ought to join my list of prospective health and fitness joint venture partners. If you think you might be, get yourself across to my site and sign up. I will even give you a free copy of the ebook “Attract More Health And Fitness Affiliates” to help you get started convincing people to help sell more of your stuff.

Are you struggling to build a client list for your health and fitness products? Many vendors discover that it is a great deal harder to build their client database than they imagined it might be. But there is a way forward that many are finding highly useful in their efforts to expand their business. This is the idea of participating in joint ventures.
So what is a joint venture? It is simply and agreement between two or more parties to share in the workload for a project, by exploiting the strengths of each party to get done what would be difficult or impossible to achieve by the other member(s) of the partnership.
Joint ventures are not for everyone. You do have to be prepared to give up control of part of a project, which is something that many entrepreneurs finding disconcerting. But it might also be the ONLY way that you can get past some of the limitations that keep you from jumping into a project that looks promising but which you do not feel adequately prepared to complete.
When you leave the offline world to come online in search of a larger audience for your products you find that there are many new skills you need to add to your repertoire. You can outsource many of these if you have neither the time nor the expertise to complete a portion of the work. But there are some components of a project for which is it virtually impossible to find an experienced outsourcer who does not cost an arm and a leg to hire.
It is times like these when the idea of a joint venture comes to mind. Perhaps you are skilled in the art of hypnosis and you can remove the desire to smoke in about ninety-five percent of the clients you take on. You can record your hypnosis sessions, but your competitors are providing their clients with more than audio files. They have ebooks that explain the elements of addiction and follow them up with case studies and scientific findings. To compete successfully you are going to have to create similar content. The problem is, writing and researching are not your strong points.
So where do you find someone with the matching talent? If you are lucky you will be able to locate a group of like-minded health and fitness professionals, and then poke around in the group until you discover someone that might be able to provide the skill set you need to complete the project. Unfortunately the number of places that you can find these people is somewhat limited.
This is something I discovered for myself when I began looking around for people to work with after I started developing my own online health and fitness products. Then it occurred to me that perhaps I should create my own member database of joint venture partners. If this sounds like something you could benefit from because you too are a health and fitness vendor, why not get across to my registration page and sign up for access to like minded professionals? Membership costs nothing and you can grab a free copy of “Attract More Health And Fitness Affiliates” when you stop by.

Health and fitness product creators have a habit of working by themselves. This is not unusual, and may be partly due to the fact that many of them get their start offline working directly with their clients to help them meet their health and fitness goals. But eventually it dawns on the product creator that they may be able to significantly expand their business by taking their product online and reaching out to the huge consumer base that it represents.
It is usually at this point that they get a bit of a shock and discover that working online is a whole lot different than working offline. Instead of the one-on-one interaction that they are used to dealing with when meeting with their clients, now they are broadcasting into the void and often finding that the void is not responding. The internet, they discover, can be a lonely place for a health and fitness marketer.
Whereas offline they may have built up a client base that trusts them, when they go online they are effectively starting over from scratch. Now they have to prove their worth all over again, one customer at a time. For many, it is enough to drive them offline again. The thought of having to master article writing, web site building, and the art of site monetization are enough to make one wonder whether it is all worth the effort.
But it need not be as difficult to pull off as you might imagine. Not if you can find the right people to help guide you. Perhaps even the right people to take some of the work off your hands in exchange for a piece of the pie. Sure, you can pay people to do the work for you if you can afford it. But many cannot afford to go that route, and instead they look more closely at the idea of joint ventures. The joint venture, or JV, is a collaboration of two or more parties who share the workload of a project, preferring to concentrate on just that part of the work that they are able to do more easily, either because they have the experience, or because they have the natural talent for the work.
The joint venture can achieve what the work of a single party cannot achieve on its own.
So, if you are an exercise video producer who has no trouble creating good exercise videos, but you are terrible when it comes to putting together a website that can actually convince people to buy the videos, then a joint venture might be the way forward. You might think that you can simply outsource the design work, but the reality is that if you work with someone who has experience in the niche that you are selling to, your likelihood of success will be a good deal higher.
This means that you may want to try to team up with someone in the same exercise niche as yourself, but who might be marketing a completely different product – exercise clothing, for example, or an information product that relates to losing weight through the same exercises that appear in your own videos. If the other party already knows how to build a web site and get clients, but they have never had any experience producing video, then a joint venture between the two of you might make sense. You can each achieve something that neither party might have succeeded with alone.
This is the idea behind Carolyn Hansen’s joint venture membership database for vendors in the health and fitness industry. If you would like to learn more about joint ventures in this area, and get to know other health and fitness professionals, get yourself across to Carolyn’s site and join up today. Admission is free.

Marketers will often cringe when they hear the words “joint venture”. The idea of having to share the workload for a project with another party, and the profits, can seem like an impossible scenario for an entrepreneur who has always made project decisions on their own. Of course, when 9 out of every 10 entrepreneurial efforts fail you have to ask just how much of that was due to poor decision making made in the vacuum of a one-man (or one-woman) committee?
Joint ventures do have something to offer even the most obsessive entrepreneurs, and it is something quite valuable: the chance to succeed where before the path looked impossibly difficult. This is why every business owner needs to look at the chance to joint venture as yet another opportunity to expand their business when such an opportunity arises.
So how exactly do joint ventures work, and how do you know when to embark upon one?
Called JVs for short, joint ventures are often the result of two business parties coming together accidentally and discovering that they each have something that the other might be able to exploit for profit. For example, two business owners might meet at an industry conference and find they have a lot in common, but whereas one of them is great at producing products the other might excel instead at the marketing end of things. They discover they each own one half of a coin that can be banked if they pool their talents and decide to concentrate only on the tasks they are good at, and leave the others to their partner.
Marriages are a perfect example of the classic joint venture, where one spouse agrees to stay at home and rear the children while the other builds a career and brings in the money. By exploiting each others talents, they build a family together with relative ease compared to the solo parent who finds the task a whole lot more demanding.
Online marketers are often forced to work by themselves for a very long time. This is because they are required to build a certain level of expertise in their business before others will take them seriously. So they get used to the idea of working alone. But there comes a point when they recognize that certain weaknesses are holding them back. Unfortunately the realization is often accompanied by an admission that they have neither the talent nor the time to rectify the weakness. This is when the thought of a joint venture starts to look sensible.
Health and fitness vendors are usually passionate about their products because they are pursing a lifestyle profession. Because of this, their marketing skills might not be as well developed as they would like. If this sounds like I am talking about you, then it might be time to begin leveraging the marketing skills of other health and fitness vendors like yourself.
The first step, of course, is to find other vendors who share your interests. This is not always easy, but if you CAN find a group of similar vendors there are several options open to you. One of them is to approach other vendors with the aim of initiating an adswap. Adswap is a term used to describe two vendors who are willing to advertise the existence of the other vendor to their own list of customers. But in order for this to work, the two vendors would not want to be direct competitors. If both sell a blood sugar monitoring device, they have little to gain by sending clients to each other.
But if one sells a blood sugar monitoring device, and the other sells a diabetes management information product, the exchange of clients makes perfect sense, since the sale of one vendor’s product does not rob the other of a sale. Instead, a client of one vendor may even discover that the product from the second vendor raises the value of the first vendor’s product in the eyes of clients. Such partnerships work well for both vendors, and they would be keen to share as many clients as they can.
This is the appeal behind the adswap idea, but it represents only one possible form of joint venture between two different parties in the health and fitness industry. To learn about more opportunities, and to join a like-minded group of health and fitness vendors, get yourself across to Carolyn Hansen’s joint venture membership signup page where you can meet others like yourself and start communicating with the aim of starting your own joint ventures.

Usually, weight loss programs fail for similar reasons. It usually starts like this. An individual wants to lose weight for a specific reason. For example, a wedding is coming up, and the bride wants to look good during the wedding. So to get results fast, she goes on a starvation diet.
A starvation diet here means skipping meals or consuming just a tiny amount of food for each meal. The body goes hungry throughout the day due to the minimal consumption of food. In the short term, this seems to work very well. The weight loss starts to happen.
But the bride doesn’t know that she is losing her health as well. How does that happen?
You see, when the bride to be goes on a starvation diet, she is losing muscle mass and fat at the same time. Without a constant source of energy (due to the meals skipping), the body has to tap into existing sources of energy to continue functioning. But most people don’t know that the body is also responding to these new eating habits.
As it is not receiving adequate nutrition, the body starts to store fat whenever possible. In other words, the metabolism drops. When that happens, the bride needs only to eat a little to gain weight. The body stores the food as fat because it doesn’t know if it’s going to have enough to eat the next day!
So the wedding comes, and the bride is happy because she gets to look slim during her big day. But as soon as the event is over, she reverts back to her normal diet. And guess what happens? She puts back all the weight that she had lost, plus a few more extra pounds! That’s not surprise. After all, she did get her metabolic rate to nose dive during the last few weeks.
Hopefully, the bride learns an important lesson here. When it comes to losing weight, it’s all about how much fat you burn. And how much fat you burn depends on your metabolism. You want your metabolism to be high so that your body will continue burning calories throughout the day.
Going on a starvation diet is always a poor short term strategy. The weight loss program is never going to work for the long term. In the long run, you want your metabolic rate to be high so that you can enjoy your daily meals, and yet feel strong and look great.
Having fitness affects all areas of your life. You will have more energy for work, for friends, and for your family. Remember that there is no short cut to losing weight. You have to increase your metabolism or your program is going to fail. Workout regularly, eat well, and start leading a healthier life.

Is it even possible to lose weight when you are eating more? Sounds too good to be true. But fitness enthusiasts are secretly smiling. They know something that others don’t. It is, in fact, true that you can eat more than you normally do, and still lose weight at the same time. How does that work?
The secret lies in knowing what to eat. I’m sure you would have heard of the many so-called “healthy” diets that TV programs promote. Those are full of salads and other low calorie meals. But consuming low calorie meals is just one part of the equation.
If you want to lose weight for the long term, you must master both sides of the equation. On the one hand, you have your diet plan to think about. And on the other hand, you have your exercise program to think about.
The two must go hand in hand. Otherwise, your weight loss program is destined for failure. Let’s take a look at why you need both for your program to be successful.
If you only have a diet plan, and you don’t work out, you are not growing any stronger. In other words, there is no chance of your metabolism improving. That means the only way to lose weight is to lower your calorie count. But there is a limit as to how much calories you can avoid consuming per day.
Don’t view calories as the ultimate enemy. It is not. In fact, you need between 1500 to 2000 calories each day in order to stay healthy. With all that calories, how does one lose weight then?
Here comes the other part of the equation – your exercise program. In order to boost your metabolism, you have no choice but to gain lean muscle mass. And there is only one way to do so – by engaging in resistance training.
Resistance training here means that you are using your muscles to push against an opposing force. It can be dumb bells, resistance strings / springs, or it can be your own weight. As long as you are using your muscles to push against an opposing force, your muscles will respond and grow accordingly.
When you are engaged in work outs, you have to choice but to eat well. Feed yourself with lots of proteins (about 1g of protein for every 1 pound of weight) so that you have enough for muscle growth and repair. As your muscles grow, your metabolic rate will become faster.
After about 4 weeks, you will start to notice changes to your body. Not only will you feel better, you will also look better. With an increased metabolic rate, your body now burns fat at a faster rate.
That’s the main reason why you can eat more and yet lose weight at the same time! Your body just burns off the fat, even while you are not exercising.

Looking to boost your metabolism? Even if you are living in cave, you would have heard of a high protein diet. Surround yourself with health enthusiasts and observe them consuming high protein meals.
How does protein help in your quest to lose weight and regain health?
Your muscles will need an adequate amount of protein to grow. The primary goal of any workout is to increase lean muscle mass. The more lean muscles, the higher the metabolism. We start to feel more energized as we continue to workout. A higher metabolic rate means the body is better at converting food and oxygen into energy. Listlessness is gone forever from your daily activities.
Muscles don’t grow during a workout. We are actually sending “instructions” to our muscles that we will be placing stress and demand on them. Due to the workouts, our muscles start to grow. But bear in mind that the muscles grow only after a workout is complete.
Ever experienced soreness the next day after your workout? That is a sure sign that your muscles are responding. Now in order to continue with an intense workout, you need to be able to grow and repair quickly. Don’t force a workout if your muscles are still hurting. If you really wish to workout, try to exercise another part of the body. Sore muscles undergoing extreme stress will be easily injured.
The faster you recover, the better you are able to cope with your exercise program. The fitter you become, the faster you recover. That is a fact.
On a daily basis, not everyone consumes the amount of protein that their body needs. Everyday, we take in proteins from our daily meals. In general, most people you come across don’t track the amount of protein that they take in. As a general rule of thumb, you should consume one gram of protein for every pound that you weight. For instance, if you weight 120 pounds, then you should eat 120g of proteins daily.
Professionals always take smaller meals each day to condition their body. This is another way of improving your metabolic rate. A body that is used to starvation will start to store fat. The reason is simple – the body stores fat as an alternative energy source as it doesn’t know when it’s getting it’s next meal!
You don’t grow fatter eating more meals. You grow slimmer because your metabolism increases! That means you will be eating a small meal every 3 hours or so. Divide the protein you need by the number of meals you will take each day and you will get an idea of how much you should eat.
In the midst of your daily activities, you can always sneak in one or two shakes to supplement your protein needs. This will ensure your protein intake never fall below what you really need. Don’t skip a meal just because you don’t have the time. Find the time.
Protein shakes are one of the easiest supplement to prepare. Just mix the powder with water or milk and you are good to go. It’s easy to get addicted to the taste that you love!
Both teens and adults will love protein shakes because they are now available in three of the most popular flavors – chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.
If you are not familiar with strawberry, you may find the taste a little bitter. Vanilla is the most popular taste so far, and chocolate comes in a close second. Rotate the flavors so that you always get a different blend each time.

Manchester United Football Club was formed in 1878 under the name Newton Heath LYR (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway). The workers at the Newton Heath railway yard played games against other departments of the LYR, and did not even consider themselves good enough to become founder members of the Football League, when it formed in 1888. They eventually followed in the footsteps of teams like the Blackburn Rovers in 1892 and signed up. Never having much money it seemed that the end may be in sight for the club at the start of the twentieth century but salvation came in the form of John Henry Davies, a local brewery owner when he heard from the Newton Heath captain Harry Stafford of the clubs plight. Davies’ involvement led to the name change Manchester United, so named in 1902. The clubs first manager was Ernest Mangnall and the turning point for them was in 1905/06 when they reached the quarter finals of the FA Cup, and were runners up in the Second Division. In 1907/08 United won the Football League Championship for the first time, followed by the first ever Charity Shield in 1908 and the FA Cup in 1909.
Old Trafford stadium was up and running by 1910, when the club moved from Bank Street, with Davies paying for the building work. The Club’s first fixture was played there in February 1910, and United….lost! However by the end of their first full season at Old Trafford they were League Champions for the second time. World War I meant that the Football League was suspended, and clubs played only regionally.
They returned to the League after the war and only two of the men on duty for their first match against Derby County had played at the end of the 1914/15 season. Former manager Mangnall moved to City as did Billy Meredith, and in 1921/22 United won only 8 of their 42 matches. However in 1925/26 United finished in ninth place, but City beat them at the semi finals! They had a bit of a downward spiral finishing 15th in 1926/27, 18th in 1927/28, recovering slightly in 1928/29 to 12th. This decline continued into the 1930s, losing 27 of their 42 league matches in 1930/31, conceding 115 goals – so only 3,507 fans showed up at the opening match of the next season. Bankruptcy threatened, but this time the saviour was James Gibson, who invested £30,000 to get the club back on track. Only ten wins in the season of 1935/36 with City as the League Champions again left fans and players disillusioned. The relegated team included Walter Winterbottom who would go on to manage United for 16 years.
World War II meant that football wasn’t as important between 1936 and 1946. In 1941 Old Trafford was bombed during a German air raid. Matt Busby joined United in 1945 on a five year contract and would still be involved with managing the club 25 years later. He got several brilliant players involved including the famous five: Jimmy Delaney, Stan Pearson, Jack Rowley, Charlie Mitten and Johnny Morris. Busby also signed Jimmy Murphy as his right-hand man and together they made United become a power in world football.
Busby’s team won the 1948 FA Cup Final, 39 years to the day that United had previously won the Cup, in 1909. It was the club’s first major honour since winning the League Championship in 1911, and the fans came back – more than one million of them attended matches in the 1947/48 season.
In the 1950s Busbys winning team fell apart when Johnny Morris departed for Derby and Charlie Mitten went to Colombia. However there was no need to worry as Busby promoted the youngsters he had been recruiting in the 1940’s. ‘Babes’ Jackie Blanchflower and Roger Byrne made their debut in 1951/52, and in doing so United won the League Championship for the first time since 1911.
The United Manager didn’t just use great British talent, he also signed internationals such as Tommy Taylor and Harry Gregg. The Busby Babes were in top form and beat Arsenal in 1958 in a nine-goal thriller. Unfortunately the glory was cut short when the United aeroplane, on its return from Munich crashed killing 22 people including 8 players – Byrne, Colman, Jones, Pegg, Taylor, Geoff Bent, Liam Whelan and Duncan Edwards. The team entered into a period of loss and transition.
The team had to be built up again at the start of the 1960s, and Dennis Viollet was one of the leading players to do this. United’s form was erratic during the early 1960s but won the 1962/63 FA Cup Final. It was during this season that George Best was signed to the team, and became footballs first celebrity. Best, Law and Charlton did great things for the club and in 1964/65 won the League Championship and reached the semi-finals of the European Fairs Cup and the FA Cup. Law was named the European Footballer of the Year. They were League Champions again in 1966/67 and won the European Cup. Matt Busby retired in 1969 after a very successful term which paved the way for the future success of Manchester United.
Somewhere in the fitness and health community there is a misguided logic that we are all subject to metabolisms beyond our control…that we are born one way, and there is not much we can do about it. Metabolism, people think, is simply something that slows to a crawl the older you get because, well, it is an age thing, and just the toll Father Time takes on your body.
As a fitness expert for over 25 years, it is difficult for me to listen to this line of logic, or “illogic” I should say, without wanting to bite a penny in two. I have worked one-on-one with multiple clients for the last 25 years. I have seen their highs and lows, as well as my own, and have come to the understanding that metabolism is not a wild card over which you have no control.
It is something you can take the reins of today, and lead yourself to a healthier lifestyle; but let it first be said that this is something you have to want.
Getting in shape and staying in shape are goals that require commitment. It is not always an easy task, but it is one that reaps rewards that will improve the quality and the length of your life. With diabetes, cancer, and heart disease, only a few of the potentially fatal effects of an unhealthy lifestyle can you afford not to take action?
This is why you must learn to improve your metabolism. And the faster you can do it, the better. Here are just three great tips for what you can do to get started:
Drink Ice Cold H2O
Hey, if you are drinking your required amount of water every day, then hats off to you. But drinking cold water offers the side benefit of helping your body burn more calories. How does this work exactly? Your body must work harder at getting the reduced temperature up to your normal body temperature. This does not exactly offer a drastic difference, but it is a helpful bell-and-whistle to increase your metabolism.
Keep Your Body Guessing
During homeostasis, your body attempts to adjust your metabolism to the number of calories you consume per day. By constantly fluctuating your calories, you use one of the greatest tools at your disposal for increasing metabolism. You keep your body’s coping mechanism on its toes, and force your metabolism into a greater state of activity. You may try 1700 calories per day for a week, then up it to 2100 on a 1900-calorie plan. Confuse your body, and you will control your metabolism rather than allowing it to control you.
Eat More
That is correct. To lose weight, you should eat more often. Supply the body with a continual supply of nutrients, and you will force it into more frequent digestion, a process that requires the use of calories. Burn more calories. Lose more fat.
There are many more great ways for you to take charge of this all-important factor in the conquering of your fitness goals. There is also a lot of false information out there. So be careful, and only listen to the experts, or those who have put in the necessary time and research to get the positive results and change lives in the process.

You have seen them on TV. Whether it is taking a swing at that home run pitch, knocking a few of the other guy’s teeth out in an octagonal-shaped cage or snatching down a Super Bowl-winning touchdown pass, athletes today are bigger, faster, and stronger.
It is easy for the aspiring bodybuilder to get discouraged when looking at this more famous gallery of Who’s Who in the muscle-bound community. If you can relate to what I am referring to, do not worry or blame yourself. It is very possible that you make a point of hitting the gym a few times a week. It is also very possible that you put in a good, solid workout. You may even like what you see at the time you are doing the reps.
But when you get home, and your body has settled in, so to speak, there is a good chance that what you see in the mirror is a little disappointing. “I’m not bad,” you may be thinking, “but I wish I could get ripped like
And then again, some of you may long for a more muscular physique, but are convinced it is a goal that is simply too far out of reach.
Well, no one said it was going to be easy, but just because something is not easy, that does not mean it has to take forever to accomplish it. Here are some great tips for how to build muscle in less time, so you can soon enjoy the physique you have always wanted:
Use free weights. – Free weights assist you in building your core, as well as the muscles they isolate. With free weights, your body is forced to not only lift the weight for the isolated region of the body, but also maintain balance throughout the rest of the body. This increases your level of overall strength more quickly.
Nurture your muscles at night with adequate amounts of protein. – Whey protein is an especially good source for after a workout, because it assists in the production of amino acids that help heal and grow muscles.
Get the right amount of sleep. – Your body needs to rest, especially as you push it harder during weight training. Make sure you are recharged before taking on more than you can handle. The recommended rest period is about 48 hours. So you have to be a little patient here. Don’t overuse your muscles, especially when they are still sore. Otherwise, you risk injury. And injury will jeopardize your workout program.
Try these tips, and see if they do not make a difference in your regular exercise routine. Whatever you do…however hard you push it…do not let your body get used to what you dish out. If you can keep it guessing, and incorporate these helpful hints, you will be in control of your body, rather than your body being in control of you.
Good luck, and take it one day at a time.
